  1. Educate patients and caregivers on how to prevent and respond to an accidental opioid overdose, including proper use of naloxone.
  2. Understand pharmacist requirements in the South Carolina Overdose Prevention Act for the dispensing of naloxone without a prescription or standing order.
  3. Support patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) by choosing destigmatizing language that recognizes OUD is a chronic, manageable disease.
